Seriously, though, if the games are so great, do they really need to be redone from scratch? Each game in the series was made with the standards of their time in mind, so yes, Final Fantasy IV and below have two-dimensional graphics and the FFVII cast looks like Legos to you.

If they have such acclaim that people still argue to this day over whether or not VII is the greatest game ever as if the game had just come out two months ago, then surely it must have made its mark. All the FF games are available to the later generations save for XII and X (though that’s changing) by way of ports if you’re concerned about that.

Can we all move on? The series is turning 25 in December. Come on, guys.
